Are you a Scout Leader, Tour guide or headed on a mission? Do you provide tours in the Back Country setting?
If any of these apply to you then you need Blended Wilderness and Disaster Medicine Course.
Are you an EMT or Paramedic or just someone who likes to hike, camp, boat, go 4 wheeling, horse back riding, or snowmobiling?
If any of these apply you need to take this Blended Wilderness & Disaster Medicine Class and learn what to do with limited resources.
What is a blended program? You will do the studying from home prior to the course beginning with our online learning system. This includes online lectures and pre-course exams. All you need is to have these completed by the time you come to the first day of class. Once you arrive in class on day one we will get busy working on the skills portion of the course. Which means you will be outside doing what you have learned by completing the online section of the class. Of course we are there for you as you do the online portion to answer any questions and can even set up a discussion board to help you through the online portion. To gain the certification you will need to complete both sections of the course and commit to having fun while we finish up the skills with you.
The Mt Nebo Wilderness & Disaster Medicine course will take you beyond the 1st Aid, EMT or Paramedic course you attended and prepare you to provide medical care with a minimum of equipment while in the wilderness setting. From wound care to medical emergencies and Allergies to Toothaches we will cover many common problems that occur in the back country and how treat them. The Mt Nebo Family of instructors will teach you by doing, not by sitting for 80 hours. In the face to face section of class you will practice the skills needed to make a difference for those in need of medical attention in the back country or disaster setting.
The Wilderness & Disaster Medicine course will involve spending time outdoors and some physical activity, so come prepared. Come Join Captain Kirk and the Mt Nebo Family if you want to learn about Back Country medicine and are willing to have fun. AND Remember your class fees include your course manual, online course access, a certification card and did we mention LOTS OF FUN.
